Mary Ellen Chabot says that she and her husband,
Joe, feel like they’ve “come home” to their home at Forest Hills.
This is because they both grew up in Whitinsville. In fact, Mary
Ellen remembers quite distinctly the first time she met her future
husband – it was in sixth grade.
“He walked into my classroom and I noticed him right away,” she
recalled. They’ve been married 44 years and have two grown children,
one son who was married last year, and a daughter who lives in Texas
along with three grandchildren.
“We are both more content than we ever dreamed we’d be,” Mary Ellen
said of their decision to move to Forest Hills. “It is even better
than we anticipated. We love our neighbors and the community. There
are families with young children as well as people our own age. It’s
a nice diversity.”
After 36 years living in Lexington, where Joe had a veterinary
practice, the couple wintered at their home in Florida, but ailing
parents drew them back here where they could provide support and
care permanently.
In 1995, Joe had sold his practice to junior partners and began
teaching anatomy and histology at Tufts Veterinary School of
Medicine, where he is now a clinical associate professor. Still, the
commute was longer than he wanted, and his mother’s home was located
in central Massachusetts.
After visiting Forest Hills, the Chabots decided to sell their home
in Lexington and move to Grafton. They live in the Adams style home
and Mary Ellen says the design of the home and the lack of building
and yard maintenance is an enormous ‘plus’ for them both.
The abundance of golf courses in central Massachusetts is a
particular boon for golf lovers. Joe just joined Whitinsville
Country Club after a long wait, and Mary Ellen finds the living here
easy too. “We laugh because we’ve
been so busy in our retirement,” says Mary Ellen about how they fill
their days. “Our retirement has been glorious. It’s only four miles
to Tufts, and the new development of retail shopping and restaurants
like the Shoppes
at Blackstone Valley is making life very convenient.”

As a single professional relocated from
out-of-state, I have found living in the Forest Hills community to
be very rewarding. The location is great since it provides easy
access to all major routes as well as to shopping and other
activities. The investment that I have made in my home has been well
worth it since Commons Development dedicates so much quality and
value to their homes. I feel proud to be considered a member of the
Forest Hills community and look forward to experiencing all that New
England has to offer!

After months of searching for the perfect town
home located in a great area, we discovered Forest Hills in Grafton.
Immediately we were impressed with the range of home plans -
actually finding it difficult to choose the model we wanted from so
many great plans! As we looked further into both the Forest Hills
Community as well as the Town of Grafton as a whole, we quickly
became convinced that Forest Hills was the right town home community
for us. Our interest was than heightened by the combination of
helpful and friendly sales associates, a variety of high end
standard and upgrade options and solid construction. It very quickly
became obvious that everything we had been looking for was available
at Forest Hills - so we put down a deposit and today own a town home
that we are proud to call our first home.

We were looking for a new home that allowed us the
flexibility that we wanted to spend our free time away on the Cape.
With both our children away at college, we did not need all of the
space as it was becoming too much to maintain. We needed a home that
offered us the same amenities that we had in our current home, but
not all of the yard work. After looking at many different
communities we discovered that Lincoln Lane fit our needs perfectly.
We found the variety of standard selections and the quality of
construction at Lincoln Lane far surpassed our expectations. We have
recently moved in and we are enjoying our new life of maintenance
free living!

Living at Forest Hills for the past year has been
a very rewarding experience. I was initially skeptical about living
in a condo, but have truly enjoyed the experience. When I shopped
for a new condo, I visited many locations, and nothing really
compared with Forest Hills. Lower taxes, quiet safe neighborhood,
and great connections to the Mass. Pike and the Grafton train
station are a huge benefit. This is a great place to live!
